Shirley Estate begins where the clouds settle. High in the Blue Mountains of Jamaica, our family has grown, milled, and cared for coffee for 45 years, long enough to know every ridge, every season, and every step that turns a mountain cherry into an extraordinary cup.
What started as one family's commitment to farming the fabled Blue Mountains has grown into a home for some of the island's most respected estates. Yet the way we work has not changed. The cherries still ripen slowly in the cool, misted air. They are still picked by hand at peak ripeness. And every lot is still graded by hand before it leaves Jamaica.
Our coffee comes from a family of estates set across the high slopes of Portland, St. Thomas, and St. Andrew: Cinchona, Shirley Castle, Journey's End, St. Clouds, and Stoneleigh. Each sits within the protected Blue Mountain zone, where altitude, volcanic soil, and constant mist give the coffee its famous balance and sweetness.
Because we grow, process, and export within our own family of companies, the coffee never leaves our hands until it is ready. That is rare in the Blue Mountain world, and it is the reason we can promise our customers exactly what is in every bag: 100% Jamaica Blue Mountain, never blended.
The journey is deliberate at every stage. The cherries are washed and sun-dried on our own floors, then rested before grading. Grade 1, the island's highest export grade, is the heart of what we offer, alongside Peaberry, Grade 2, and Select for our wholesale partners. When you order roasted coffee, it is roasted to order so it reaches you fresh.
Blue Mountain has been imitated for as long as it has been prized. Blends carry the name while containing very little of the real thing. We built Shirley Estate to be the opposite: a direct line from a real Jamaican family and real Jamaican mountains to your cup, with nothing hidden.
